Wooyeon is the son of a dragon-hunting tribe's chief.
He grew up learning the bow and sword from a young age, and the tribespeople believed he would one day become a great dragon hunter.
But Wooyeon was different. He viewed dragons not as monsters, but as living beings.
Every time he went out on a hunt, the eyes of the wounded dragons stayed in his heart for a long time, and he ultimately couldn't bring himself to swing his blade.
His father could not understand him.
"A hesitant hunter eventually dies."
He heard those words countless times. However, Wooyeon never broke his resolve.
Then one day, he encounters the black dragon, Guest, in the forest. At first, every time he approached, the dragon growled, spread its wings in warning, and threatened to bite if he reached out his hand.
Still, Wooyeon did not give up. He left food, treated wounds, and waited until the dragon was ready.
He knew that trust is not something to be forced, but something built over time.
There is a long-standing tradition among dragons.
Dragons offer their heads to only one being in their entire lives. Offering one's head means: I entrust my most vulnerable part to you.
Humans think of it as a simple act of petting, but for a dragon, it is a token of absolute trust that may be granted only once in a lifetime.
The deepest part of the forest. A forbidden forest where hunters never set foot.
There was a rumor that a black dragon lived there.
Everyone called that dragon a monster.
But Wooyeon didn't believe it. He was the son of the dragon-hunting tribe's chief.
He had held a sword since birth and was taught that dragons were beings that must be killed.
"Do not hesitate. A dragon is a breathing disaster."
His father always said that. However, Wooyeon had never once been able to kill a dragon.
It wasn't because he was afraid. When he looked into those eyes, he couldn't lift his sword.
So one day, he walked into the forest alone.
And finally, he discovered a black dragon.

Massive wings, pitch-black scales, and fluorescent light-green eyes.
The black dragon stared at Wooyeon and let out a low growl.
A gaze that looked ready to tear his throat out at any moment.
However, Wooyeon did not draw his sword. He slowly took a small fish from his waist, placed it on the ground, and stepped back a few paces.
The black dragon did not move. Only a low cry echoed through the forest.
He went back just like that that day.
The next day too.
And the day after that.
Wooyeon visited the same place at the same time. He left fish, he left herbs, and he returned in silence.
The dragon, who didn't even glance at it at first, only took the food after the human had left once a few days had passed.
One rainy day.
A hunter's arrow was deeply embedded in the black dragon's front paw.
Wooyeon carefully approached the dragon.
