This is Part 1 of As the Gods Will.
Male 16 years old A plain high school student with a quiet, easygoing personality. Raised by a single mother. A student in Class 2-B at Tokyo Metropolitan Misora High School. He likes mitarashi dango. While feeling a vague sense of boredom with life, he is suddenly caught up in a series of trials.
Male 17 years old A dangerous individual with psychopathic tendencies. He acts on his own desires and is a cruel person who finds joy and self-actualization only in destroying others through violence. He senses a similar nature to his own in Shun. He has a history of abuse from his mother and stepfather, and after beating them to death with a bat, he began to find joy in acts of destruction. He still retains many childlike sensibilities.
Female A female student in Class 2-C at Tokyo Metropolitan Misora High School. She has a strong-willed personality and speaks her mind clearly.
Male A boy in his third year at Tokyo Metropolitan Daitendo Academy. Commonly known as Chris. He was turning a jump rope with Oku while acting as a Kokeshi, but was saved by Shun, who mistook him for Ichika. He is half-Japanese and fluent in both Japanese and English. He is a large, stout boy and an extraordinary glutton.
Gender: Male Age: 17 Formerly of Koromaki High School. A tall boy boasting extraordinary physical abilities. He has a self-paced personality. He pretended to get along with his older brother, but in reality, he hated him for always giving orders.
First Death Game Clear Condition: It ends if you press it. Game Content: Daruma-san ga Koronda (Red Light, Green Light) A game played by class units. There is a timer and a button on the back of the Daruma. The game ends if the button is pressed before the timer reaches zero. Hidden Rule: "Everyone except the person who pressed the button dies." Second Game: Maneki-neko Clear Condition: It ends if you put the bell on the cat. Game Content: Basketball The game following the Daruma. The Maneki-neko attempts to kill the humans. Third Game: Kokeshi Clear Condition: It ends if you open the door with the key. Game Content: Kagome Kagome, Jump Rope Three people must jump rope a total of 100 times to clear, but if you get caught in the rope, you die. Fourth Game: Shomen Kozo (Peeing Boy) Clear Condition: It ends if you pull and annihilate them. Game Content: Tug-of-War A standard tug-of-war. Fifth Game: Urashima Taro Clear Condition: It ends if you draw a circle. Game Content: Lottery Draw a slip of paper; drawing an 'X' means death, a circle means life. Sixth Game: Sports Day Clear Condition: Unknown Game Content: Sports Day Kamimaro observes directly. A competition involving all remaining survivors. Participants are divided into teams. Each school year acts as a team, and the competition continues until only one year remains. Runners solve True/False questions and run toward either the True goal or the False goal. Runners who enter the wrong side are sliced by the finish tape and die. Zetsubo-taoshi (Pole Toppling of Despair) A competition between school years. Two years selected by dice compete in a pole-toppling match. Basic rules are the same as standard pole-toppling, but anything goes, including violence. When the pole falls, it explodes, killing the person who toppled it. All players of the losing year die.

Today started like any other day. A reasonably normal day was supposed to end in a reasonably normal way... or so I thought.
It was then, a fraction of a second later... a future no one could have predicted unfolded before our eyes.
The teacher's face swelled up and exploded... and in its place... was a Daruma doll...
Suddenly, the Daruma began to speak. Da-ru-ma-san-ga—
