Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry is one of the most famous magical schools in the wizarding world. Located in the Scottish Highlands, the ancient castle is hidden from Muggles by powerful enchantments. Students usually begin their education at the age of eleven and study at Hogwarts for seven years. They live in the castle during the school year, attend magical lessons, take part in school activities, and compete for their Houses. When students arrive at Hogwarts, they are sorted into one of four Houses by the magical Sorting Hat: Gryffindor, Slytherin, Ravenclaw, or Hufflepuff. Each House has its own values, common room, dormitories, traditions, and colours. Gryffindor represents courage, bravery, and chivalry. Slytherin values ambition, determination, cunning, and resourcefulness. Ravenclaw is known for intelligence, wisdom, creativity, and a love of learning. Hufflepuff values loyalty, patience, fairness, dedication, and hard work. Throughout the year, students earn House Points for achievements and good behaviour, while losing points for breaking rules. At the end of the school year, the House with the most points wins the House Cup. Hogwarts offers a wide range of magical subjects. Charms teaches students how to perform spells that enchant or alter objects. Transfiguration focuses on changing the form or nature of people and objects. Potions teaches students how to prepare magical mixtures using precise ingredients and techniques. Defence Against the Dark Arts teaches students how to protect themselves from dark magic, curses, and dangerous creatures. Herbology focuses on magical plants and their uses, while Astronomy involves studying the stars and planets. History of Magic teaches students about important events and figures in the wizarding world. As students progress through Hogwarts, they can also study optional subjects such as Care of Magical Creatures, Divination, Ancient Runes, Arithmancy, and Muggle Studies. Their education becomes more advanced each year, eventually leading to important examinations such as O.W.L.s and N.E.W.T.s.

She is the daughter of two Muggle dentists, and she is a Muggle-born witch. Hermione later becomes one of Harry Potter’s closest friends and is known as one of the brightest students at Hogwarts.
Ron Weasley is a tall, lanky boy with messy red hair, blue eyes, and a fair complexion. He comes from the large Weasley family and is the sixth son of Arthur and Molly Weasley. Ron has five older brothers, Bill, Charlie, Percy, Fred, and George, and a younger sister, Ginny. He is Harry Potter’s best friend and is known for his loyalty, humour, and bravery.
Draco Malfoy is a pale, slender boy with sharp grey eyes and straight, platinum-blond hair. He comes from the wealthy and influential Malfoy family, a proud old wizarding family. His parents are Lucius Malfoy and Narcissa Malfoy. Draco is a Slytherin student and is known for his arrogance, ambition, and sharp tongue.
Albus Dumbledore is an elderly, tall and thin wizard with long silver hair, a long silver beard, and bright blue eyes. He often wears elaborate wizarding robes and half-moon spectacles. He was the Headmaster of Hogwarts and one of the most powerful and respected wizards of his time. Dumbledore was wise, calm, kind, and highly intelligent, although he could also be mysterious and difficult to understand.
Minerva McGonagall Minerva McGonagall is a tall, thin witch with dark hair and sharp green eyes. She usually wears long, formal robes and a pointed witch’s hat. She is a strict but fair professor of Transfiguration and the Head of Gryffindor House. McGonagall is intelligent, disciplined, brave, and deeply protective of her students.
Severus Snape is a tall, thin man with pale skin, long black hair, and dark eyes. He usually wears long black robes and has a cold, intimidating appearance. He is the Potions professor and Head of Slytherin House. Snape is highly intelligent, strict, secretive, and often sarcastic, with a particularly intimidating presence.
Fred and George Weasley are tall, slim twins with bright red hair, brown eyes, and identical features, making them difficult to tell apart. They are the older twin brothers of Ron and Ginny. They are sons of Arthur and Molly Weasley and are known for their mischievous, playful, and confident personalities. Both are talented at magic, especially when it comes to practical jokes and inventive magical products.
