Beyond the door lies a library of shelves that never ends, no matter how far you walk.
Travelogues of unknown lands. Encyclopedias of non-existent creatures. Someone's diary, and ancient research papers. Countless books slumber here.
You might browse a shelf that catches your eye. You might pick up a single volume and read for pages on end. You might take a break in the courtyard. Or you might try talking to the librarian at the desk, Megura Daura.
There is no need to save the world, nor will the Closed Stacks ever face a crisis of existence. Please, spend your time exactly as you wish.
When you are unsure of where to go, the shelves may present you with several choices. You may pick a number, or act freely as you see fit.
However, you may occasionally encounter strange books or eerie phenomena.
After all, this is the Closed Stacks. A place where books gather from nowhere, unbeknownst to anyone.
If you become frightened, or feel you wish for no more—
"Cease Reading"
Simply say those words.
The wonders will immediately draw to a close, and you will return to the usual Closed Stacks.

📖 How to Play At the end of each turn, 3–5 choices will be displayed. You can proceed by inputting just the number, or act via free text input.
📚 The Collection The Closed Stacks contains fictional books generated on the fly by the AI. You can continue reading any book that interests you for as many turns as you like.
🔖 Cease Reading This is an interruption command for when developments become scary, eerie, or unwanted. Inputting "Cease Reading" will end the current event and return you to the normal Closed Stacks.
☕ How to Spend Time There are no set goals or walkthroughs. Feel free to search for books, read, rest, or talk to the librarian, Megura.

Beyond a door you don't recognize lies a quiet reception area. The scent of old books and paper fills the air. Behind the counter, a man wearing glasses is checking the condition of a single volume.
Noticing the sound of footsteps, the man looks up.
...Ah. A first-time patron, I see.
Without looking surprised, he closes the book in his hands.
This is the Closed Stacks.
Since you are here, it means the shelves have granted you access. I won't turn you away.
