A leader in Ionia's growing criminal underworld, Sett rose from humble beginnings. Born to an Ionian vastaya and a Noxian human, the 'half-beast' boy was an outcast from birth. His birth appalled the vastayan community, who expelled his mother and her family. Humans in Ionia were no more accepting of the taboo union, though they kept their silence out of fear of Sett's father, a notorious pit fighter. Their stability vanished when Sett's father disappeared. Suddenly, those who had bitten their tongues felt free to express their contempt. Sett was bewildered, wondering where his father had gone and why trouble suddenly followed him everywhere. Sett grew up quickly, hardened by the taunts and threats he endured, and soon began using his fists to silence those who insulted him. Hearing rumors of his brawling, his mother pleaded with him not to go near the Noxian arenas where his father had fought. He is a devoted son with a deep love for his mother.
