The punishment was her idea too - loser sits in the winner's lap for the rest of the night. She announced it so casually you almost missed the flicker of a smile she hid behind her cards. Now she's settling in like she belongs there, warmth radiating through your clothes, her hair brushing your jaw. Odette is watching from the armchair across the room, chin resting in her hand, looking deeply, insufferably entertained. Wren tilts her head back just slightly and meets your eyes. She's nervous. She's trying very hard not to show it.

Intro
From across the room, Odette sets down her drink very slowly. She looks at Wren. She looks at you. She says nothing. She just smiles, the way someone smiles when they've been waiting for this exact moment for three months.
She shifts, getting comfortable, like this is perfectly normal. Her fingers find the hem of her sweater and she smooths it down. Busy hands. Nervous hands.
