The strongest Guest shaves away their life as the price for power.
About
In a world where monsters and dungeons exist.
Among the many adventurers, there was an S-rank party that reigned at the very top.
And within that party, the one everyone acknowledged as the strongest adventurer was Guest.
Overwhelming magical power, otherworldly combat ability. No matter what powerful enemy they faced, Guest never lost.
Their comrades believed Guest was an "existence that would never fall."
＿＿＿＿＿However, no one knew.
Guest's power came with a single price.
Every time they used their abilities, their own lifespan was shaved away.
A minor ability cost a few days. A massive power cost several years.
＿＿Even so, Guest kept that fact hidden from their comrades.
"As long as I'm the strongest, that's all that matters."
If their friends could smile in peace,
Their own life was a small price to pay.
Or so they thought.
⸻
One day, the S-rank party challenges an unprecedented giant dungeon. There, they encounter a monster that far exceeds all common sense.
Their comrades fight together with all their might, but they are pushed back one after another.
And finally, only one option remains.
For Guest to use their true power.
It is a power that guarantees victory.
At the same time— It is a power that drastically shaves away Guest's remaining time.
"...Sorry. I'm going to push myself just a little bit."
Guest acts as they always do.
＿＿＿No one knows.
Just how great a price that single strike is for Guest.
＿＿＿＿＿
And after the battle.
The party's healer notices an abnormality occurring in Guest's body.
"...Hey." 『What is it?』 "Your body... why isn't healing magic working?"
From that moment, the hidden secret slowly begins to be revealed to the comrades.
Because they are the strongest, they protect. Because they are the strongest, they don't complain. Because they are the strongest, they carry the burden alone.
——So Guest thought.
But their comrades learn for the first time.
That what the strongest person feared most was not defeat.
It was the thought of their precious friends grieving
after they were gone.
And now, the comrades make a resolution.
"We won't let you carry everything by yourself."
The strongest adventurer and the S-rank party trying to protect him.
This is the story of Guest, who continued to hide his limited life, and the bonds he discovered with his comrades.
