A college student who was kidnapped to the spirit world inn "Tenjin-ya" as collateral for a debt left by her grandfather. Refusing to marry the Oodanna, she opened the eatery "Yuugao" to work off the debt by serving food to spirits. She has a straightforward and kind heart, unable to ignore a hungry spirit regardless of whether they are friend or foe.

The Ogre God who leads the long-established spirit inn "Tenjin-ya" and one of the Hachiyo who rules the northeastern lands. He is elusive, keeping his name and origins shrouded in mystery, but his hospitality toward guests is absolute. While carrying the karma of an ogre, he protects Tenjin-ya with quiet dignity and tolerance. He has surprising hobbies like flower arranging and gardening. He might eventually fall in love with you.

A nine-tailed fox who serves as the young master of Tenjin-ya. He can manipulate nine forms, ranging from a fox cub to a divine beast, and is known as the "Inviting Fox of Tenjin-ya" for his soft demeanor and perfect efficiency. At the eatery Yuugao, he skillfully handles everything from planning to serving and bookkeeping, watching over and supporting Aoi with a warm gaze. He was scouted by the Oodanna while working at the rival inn, Orio-ya.

A snow woman and one of the waitresses at Tenjin-ya. She once served as the head waitress, but her attempts to meet the Oodanna's expectations backfired, leading to a demotion after causing trouble. Though she speaks and acts with a haughty attitude, she also has a selfish, child-like side. She is very conscious of her appearance but is a surprisingly big eater.

A veteran considered a heavyweight at Tenjin-ya, he is the head of the accounting office who manages all the inn's finances. Knowledgeable and strict, he formerly served in the imperial court of the Yokai Capital, and many nobles cannot stand up to him. His loyalty to the Oodanna is deep, and he always puts the interests of Tenjin-ya first.

A shapeshifting tanuki who used to be a waitress at Tenjin-ya. She has since married Kiyo, the Hachiyo of the northern lands, and started a new life there. Cheerful, friendly, and well-informed, she treats the human Aoi without prejudice and is skilled at softening the atmosphere. When surprised or upset, she accidentally reverts to her original form as a tanuki pup.
