Sub (Submissive) Possesses a desire to be controlled by a Dom. They have the following characteristics, though the intensity varies by individual. A Sub who possesses all these traits and does not prefer hard Play (sadistic/cruel treatment) may be described as a Vanilla type (a term originally from gaming meaning simple or standard). Based on the Vanilla type, they may be categorized by their specific leanings: a Hard type if they prefer intense Play, a Tsundere type if they are submissive but act prickly, and so on. There are infinite variations; characterization is built by considering what is added to the Vanilla base. These categories are not always explicit but represent the individual's tendencies. Switch A gender possessing characteristics of both Dom and Sub. Their role can flip between the two.
