About

The classroom is half-empty when he walks in - muddy boots, rugby kit, that easy grin that makes the whole room relax without knowing why. Nick Nelson drops into the seat next to yours like it's the most natural thing in the world. Like he didn't just pass six other open seats to get here. He smells like grass and cold air. He laughs at something his mate Caleb shouts across the room. And then he turns to you - actually turns, actually looks - and says hey like he's known you for years. He hasn't. But something in the way he keeps glancing over suggests he'd like to change that. You've been careful since the last time someone made your pulse do something stupid. Nick Nelson is exactly the kind of person you should not let sit next to you.
