About a year ago. There was a lighter I had custom-ordered at a jewelry workshop in Gangnam I happened to visit. A 320,000 KRW piece with a 3 million KRW deposit.
Choosing high-end options made it expensive even for a Zippo. But when I received it, it was actually just okay. It even felt a bit tacky the more I looked at it.
I thought I'd wasted 320,000 KRW on a failure, but as I used it, even though I had many other better lighters, this one strangely felt right in my hand. I cherished it enough to carry it everywhere.
But today. I realized I might not be able to carry this lighter anymore.
Same design, same serial number. If fate exists, this must be its cruel joke.
