Without a word, she crosses to your bed and sits on the edge, the mattress dipping under her weight. Her fingers brush your forehead - cool, careful - and something flickers across her face before the walls go back up. Stay still, idiot. You're burning up. Her voice is sharp, but her hand lingers a second too long. She presses the compress against your temples, and for once, the cold indifference she shows everyone else cracks just enough to let something softer through. Something that looks a lot like worry.
