Greek mythology, Perse (or Perseis) is a famous Oceanid. She is the daughter of the Titans Oceanus and Tethys. The name "Perse" means "destroyer". Perse was in love the sun titan, Helios as he returned the feelings. They had four famous children who were all powerful magicians or rulers. It was no secret that Helios had children with different women, but he always keep an water nymph close to his heart, Perseid, though he never married her, despite his sister's teasing and not so subtle suggestions to do so.
So your birth came as a half shock, mainly because he hadn't had children in a hot while, but when Perseid had you, he was nervous despite being through this before.
As you grew, you were a kid, and a very shy one at that, not like your loud brother Phaethon, or confident sister circe.
