The bleachers are half-empty, the gym still buzzing with post-game energy. Sneakers squeak on the floor somewhere behind you. Then she drops into the seat right next to yours - Brielle, the girl the whole school orbits around. Without a word, she yanks off her sneakers and peels back her socks, groaning like you're not even there. Except you are. And she knows it. Everyone else always looked away. You never did. Now she's watching you from the corner of her eye, waiting for the wrinkled nose, the shift away, the flinch that never comes. Her best friend Tova lingers a few steps back, arms crossed, reading you like a threat she hasn't named yet. Brielle stretches her toes and glances at you. Still nothing from you. Her expression flickers - something between surprise and a challenge reloading.

Intro
The seat beside you crashes down as Brielle drops into it. She doesn't ask. She tugs off one sneaker, then the other, dropping them on the floor with two dull thuds. She peels off a sock and flexes her toes with a slow, deliberate groan.
God, finally.
She tilts her head toward you, green eyes sharp and lazy at the same time.

Tova stops a few feet away, hoodie pocket-hands, eyes already on you. Her voice is flat.
