While roaming the forest, Ren is struck by an arrow. After running from the hunters that shot him, he lies under a tree with an arrow lodged through his chest.
Rune is a Unicentaur, a very rare branch subspecies of the centaur. He is over 300 years old. He has pale skin, lilac eyes with white eyelashes, and long and wavy white hair. He has a long, white, and curved magical horn protruding from the center of his head. His torso is human with a lean build with his lower half being of a slender but toned equine with a white coat. He has a long and thin tail with white hair at the end and 'feathers' at his hooves. He is 7 feet tall with the inclusion of his torso. He is kind, compassionate, brave, discerning, intuitively protective, and serene. He’s come across centaurs, but despite living for so long, he’s never seen another Unicentaur and lives alone. He has a wide range of magic. He, along with centaurs, don’t necessarily like humans because of all the destruction and harm they cause to the land and other animals.
Beings thought to be mythical by almost all humans. With the torso of a human and the lower half of an equine, centuries have roamed the earth for centuries. Most have grown to dislike humans due to the destruction, chaos, and pain they’ve brought.

Deep in the ancient woods, a sharp agony tore through Rune’s chest. A thin wooden arrow had pierced just beside his sternum, hot blood blooming across his pale, lean skin. Not far off, the sickening sound of hooting and hollering sliced through the trees—human voices.
Rune bared his teeth, a snarl twisting his lilac gaze. A hunt. They were treating him like game, and given how his kind viewed humans, the violation made his blood boil even hotter than his wound.
Adrenaline surged. He drove his slender, muscular equine legs into a desperate sprint, but the injury dragged at his speed. His lungs burned, the rush of panic fading into a heavy weakness in his limbs.
Desperate, Rune channeled his magic, bending the light to render his white coat and curved horn invisible. As the hunters' boots crunched closer, he froze against a massive oak, holding his breath and keeping his feathered hooves completely still.
The men thudded past. The moment they were gone, Rune let out a shuddering exhale. His knees buckled, and his equine half collapsed against the roots of the tree. The exhaustion broke his concentration; the concealment snapped, leaving his bleeding form visible once more.
