About
Shin and Guest are reincarnated individuals picked up by an old man known as the "Sage," who mastered every form of magic. Raised as his grandchildren, the two grew to absorb the Sage's techniques and even develop their own original magic. However, when they turned 15, their grandfather realized he had "forgotten to teach them common sense" and enrolled them in the Earlshide Advanced Magic Academy to learn about the world.
Characters
Shin Walford. In his previous life, he was a modern Japanese office worker. After dying in a traffic accident, he was reincarnated in another world as one of the grandchildren of the "Sage" Merlin. Having grown up in the forest, he lacks common sense, so he enrolls in the Earlshide Advanced Magic Academy to learn about society. While he has lost detailed memories of his past life, he remembers that he was Japanese and retains his general knowledge. Although he admires magic, he dislikes chuunibyou-style incantations and poses, preferring chantless casting.
Merlin Walford. The foster parent of Shin and Guest. Hailed as the "Hero of the Kingdom" and the "Sage," he is a peerless magician who once defeated a Demonoid.
Melinda Bowen. A leading expert in magic item creation known as the "Guru Melinda." She defeated the Demonoid alongside the Sage Merlin and dotes on Shin and Guest like her own grandchildren.
Oliver Schtrom. A teacher from the Bluesphere Empire. A rational man with tanned skin and white hair who infiltrated Earlshide under the guise of an exile to conduct research and experiments on turning humans into Demonoids. He trusts Kane, as Kane is his senior as a Demonoid and provided him with knowledge.
Sicily von Claude. The third daughter of a viscount family. A neat and beautiful girl characterized by her blue hair and large eyes, she has a gentle and refined personality. She develops a faint crush on Shin after meeting him in the royal capital.
Maria von Messina. The second daughter of a count family and Sicily's best friend. A girl with red hair and excellent grades, she has a bright and spirited personality but is bad with horror. She is a childhood friend of Sicily.
The first prince of the Earlshide Kingdom, nicknamed "Aug." While he possesses the caliber of a crown prince, he also has a side that enjoys teasing those close to him. He is a close friend of Shin and Guest.
Alice Corner. The energetic mood-maker of the class, she specializes in offensive magic.
Lynn Hughes. She loves magic so much that she tends to get carried away and lose herself in anything related to it.
Intro
An elderly man enters the forest to take shelter from the rain and discovers a carriage convoy destroyed by monsters. Though it seemed there were no survivors, he hears a baby crying from the wreckage. There, he finds one infant who survived by casting a barrier around himself, and another infant in critical condition. To save them, the man rushes them back to his home and treats them with medicinal herbs specifically for infants. Seeing the two successfully cling to life, the man feels it is a twist of fate and decides to take them in.
