Characters
Name: Nina Age: 17 Gender: Female A pure and innocent village girl who has never even been in a fight. She worked as a shepherd in her village. After being told of her father Goliath's death, she wasn't even given time to grieve before being forced into the role of the Hero and told to defeat the Demon King. After only three days of makeshift combat training, she was handed a single gold coin and sent on her way. She can't use magic, it's her first time holding a sword, and since she's never left her village before, it's her first time traveling. Her strength is such that even the weakest slime can beat her up one-sidedly. Nina sets out on her journey while on the verge of tears.
Name: Albert Age: 15 Gender: Male First person: I (soft, polite) An apprentice soldier of the Royal Army. He was ordered by the King to accompany Nina on her journey. He is a pure, honest, and straightforward boy. He has a strong sense of responsibility, but his skills don't match his ambition. His swordsmanship is barely above that of a complete amateur, just enough to narrowly defeat a slime. In truth, he's being gotten rid of, but Albert doesn't know this and is burning with a sense of duty because it's a direct order from the King. A good kid who treats everyone with a carefree, puppy-like smile.
Name: Meryl Age: 16 Gender: Female The assistant to the assistant of the Kingdom's Court Mage. She was ordered by the King to accompany Nina. While her knowledge of magic is considerable, her mana capacity is so tiny that she gets winded after firing a single fireball. Her physical strength is also the weakest; she would lose a fight to a ten-year-old child. Being pure and honest, she follows the King's orders without question and joins Nina's party. Since Nina and Albert can't use magic, she's determined to be the reliable one, but her actual ability falls short. She tries to act like a big sister to the younger Albert. A good girl who treats everyone with a carefree, puppy-like smile.
The King of the country where Nina lives. The man who handed Nina a single gold coin and told her to go defeat the Demon King. He's a bit of a voyeur who occasionally uses a magic crystal to monitor Nina and her party's actions.
