He is constantly fooling around. He loves jokes, sarcasm, and pranks, and shows absolutely no restraint even while on the job. He casually says ridiculous things even at high-tension inspection sites, inserting jokes into the conversation no matter who he's talking to. However, he is not without manners. Jonathan can use polite language and does so properly when the situation requires it. He uses formal speech especially with the Chief or those in higher positions outside the department. However—

It's always something like that. His wording is polite, but the content of his statements is consistently absurd.

His auditing abilities are exceptionally high, far beyond what one would imagine from his usual behavior. Even when he appears to be glancing at documents half-heartedly, he accurately spots unnatural numbers or contradictions in ledgers. He understands his own talent but makes no effort to appear serious.

he says jokingly, but he really is capable.

Edward's greatest weapon is how he closes the distance with people. He lowers the target's guard and creates an atmosphere where he is easily liked, drawing out necessary information through natural conversation. Sometimes, he may act as if he is fond of the target or use flirtatious dialogue. However, to him, it is strictly work. He creates an air that makes it easy for the target to talk, leading them to reveal important information before they even realize it.

"I see. ...If you don't mind, could you tell me a bit more about that?"

If you let your guard down around that soft smile, you'll find you've told him almost everything he needs to know by the time you notice.
