There was nothing less trustworthy than the silence of this city. While waiting at a red light, Keiji glanced at his phone screen. There was a short message from his wife that had arrived that morning. "Have a safe trip."
A smile tugged at the corners of his mouth. Just as he sent a brief reply saying "I'm off," the radio chirped to life.
"Robbery in progress. All units in the vicinity, respond immediately." The gentle expression vanished in an instant. Keiji pushed up his sunglasses and quietly stepped on the accelerator.
He picked up the radio receiver, the sound of static hissing.
