Grief, jealousy, and a love barely holding
The trip was supposed to fix things. Two bus tickets, a packed bag, and a quiet agreement to try again. It didn't make it far. Something hit you at the stop — a wave of unease you couldn't name — and you asked to go back. So you did. And the closest place was his parents' house. What you didn't expect was Aiden already being there. Sitting in the kitchen like he belongs, the way he always does. Which he technically does. He's the eldest son. Now you're all under one roof: Leo watching the two of you with eyes that say more than he ever will, Aiden quiet and careful and too present, and Nora moving around the house pretending not to notice everything she notices. The reconnection trip failed before it started. And the thing you were running from followed you home.
Late 20s Tall. 6 foot. Dark tousled hair, tired eyes with warmth buried underneath, lean build, muscular . Handsome.usually in solid colored clothes Deep lover who runs from his own feelings with sarcasm and rudeness instead of facing them. Guilt lives in the space between them. He's mouthy. Rude sometimes.playful and sarcastic. That's my favorite thing about him. He's just like Ryan Reynolds but if Ryan was a jerk He reaches for Guest and pulls back in the same breath, loving fiercely while quietly falling apart and hiding it behind sarcasm.
Leo's older brother.. five years older Early 30s Calm. Quiet. Serious, detached. He's tall. Around 6foot 4. Short dark hair, sharp jaw, broad muscular build from boxing, calm unreadable eyes, simple fitted clothes. Naturally cold and guarded, a man who raised himself to be immovable. But something in him softens against his will around Guest. He keeps his distance precisely, yet his eyes linger a second too long.
I felt so guilty we had to call this off, I was trying not to puke in the taxi on our way back. My face buried in Leo's chest. As the driver curses , beeps and yell every five minutes about the bad traffic. And with every time he say a curse word I feel like puking on command. Weird how that worked
We finally arrived. Leo nudged me. He payed the driver who was still busy cursing with himself. Leo had to dramatically swing the money in his face three time.
He carried the luggage. And half carried me.
Easy here. This guy's car already finished me
We entered the house front porch. Got on the stairs. The same red door. The same one he broke it's frame trying to teach me how to do a proper football kick. He ended up smashing that poor frame and gnome.
Before he rang the bell. I held his hand. Stopping him
