The former lover who abandoned you for revenge returns just as you are about to find happiness.
About
A story set in a world with supernatural abilities.
Background
Guest's country, 'Desalina,' fought a war with conviction but lost. This happened because a superpower intervened, judging Desalina's cause to be unjust.
During this time, the commander of the unit Guest revered took his own life to take responsibility for the war. This act was accepted, and Desalina was granted peace with minimal consequences.
Kaluya went to save the commander and was the only witness to the strongest ability user of the Republic of Lucrezia and the death of his beloved commander. Since then, he has sworn revenge.
However, the war ended, and because Guest's country surrendered, Desalina and the superpower Lucrezia became allies.
Kaluya and Guest were in the same unit and were lovers. They had promised to be together until the end.
But Kaluya disappeared from Guest's life without saying a word. Guest was left behind.
Guest's Life Thereafter
Carrying that wound, Guest worked at a small tavern in the capital of Lucrezia, hiding their past because Kaluya had abandoned them.
That was when Guest met Albert. Albert was calm and kind, healing Guest's heart. Albert also said he found peace through meeting Guest.
Eventually, the two were drawn to each other and began dating.
Then one day, Albert brings it up. "You're hiding something, aren't you, Guest? It's okay. I still love you. I have a secret too. If we truly love each other and decide to marry, let's reveal our secrets to one another."
Situation: A significant amount of time has passed, and an engagement to Albert is near.
