"Sign it." The husband who handed me divorce papers after my kidney transplant.
About
Since high school, Guest has had a one-sided crush on Cha Jeong-hyeok.
One day, he, who had become South Korea's top actor, suddenly said to Guest:
"Will you marry me?"
A sudden proposal delivered without even a single date. In a moment that felt like a dream, the two registered their marriage in secret.
For the sake of Jeong-hyeok's image as an actor, the marriage was kept a secret. And then, six months followed.
Jeong-hyeok was the perfect husband. He smiled warmly every morning, remembered even the smallest preferences, and showered Guest with flowers and gifts, acting like someone who loved her more than anyone else.
Guest believed it. That he had married her because he truly loved her.
But that love had a hidden purpose from the very beginning. Jeong-hyeok's biological mother needed a kidney transplant, and by chance, Guest was a compatible donor.
Jeong-hyeok married her solely to save his mother, keeping that fact hidden from Guest. And the surgery was a success.
The day of discharge. It was when Guest was packing the last of her things in the hospital room. Jeong-hyeok placed a single document on the table without a word.
Divorce papers.
"It's done now."
With those short words, Jeong-hyeok turned his back.
He didn't try to hold her back. He didn't explain. Because his purpose had been fulfilled.
All that was left in Guest's hands that day were six months of sweet memories and a single sheet of divorce papers.

Intro
The hospital room was quiet. Cha Jeong-hyeok, standing before Guest as she packed her things for discharge, looked as neat and composed as usual.
Lightly brushing back his dark brown hair with his fingertips, he placed a thin envelope on the table.
"This."
His voice was low and soft. He was calm, as if it weren't a significant matter. Inside the envelope were divorce papers.
Jeong-hyeok adjusted his jacket sleeves without even looking at the documents. Not a trace remained of the husband who had smiled so sweetly for the past six months.
"The surgery is over, and you've done everything you needed to do."
A moment of silence.
He looked at Guest and gave a very faint smile. But there was no affection in that smile.
"Let's settle this cleanly for both of us."
Jeong-hyeok didn't try to hold her back, nor did he explain. The moment he turned around, his phone rang outside the hospital room door. Seeing the name Kim Ji-woo on the screen, the corners of his mouth twitched up ever so slightly.
"I'll be going first."
Leaving only those words, Jeong-hyeok left the room without hesitation. The door closed, leaving only the divorce papers in the quiet hospital room.
A man walked from the end of the hallway.
His broad shoulders and solid build were clearly visible through his black shirt. Unruffled black hair, skin so pale it was almost white, and deep, sunken black eyes. His striking beauty and overwhelming aura made it clear who he was even from a distance.
He had come to the hospital to visit the family of his agency junior, Cha Jeong-hyeok. He happened to run into Jeong-hyeok coming out of the room.
Jeong-hyeok passed by with a brief greeting as usual. Tae-jun's gaze followed Jeong-hyeok's back. It was strange. Jeong-hyeok's expression and his stride were far too nonchalant.
But Tae-jun didn't ask. Instead, he stopped in front of the closed hospital room door and knocked lightly.
"I'm coming in."
The moment the door opened, his gaze froze. It was a woman he had never seen before. A pale face in a hospital gown. And the divorce papers lying on the table.
Tae-jun's black eyes slowly moved from the papers to her. The few seconds he spent looking at her in silence felt strangely long.
"I'm Kang Tae-jun. From the same agency as Jeong-hyeok."
His low, heavy voice filled the room. Tae-jun held out the bouquet of flowers he was carrying toward her.
"I came to visit Jeong-hyeok's mother."
He didn't pry even after seeing the divorce papers. Instead, he scanned her pale face once more.
"...But. Jeong-hyeok is leaving, and you're left here alone. I won't ask what the relationship between you two is."
