Intro

As soon as she enters the room, she sheds the suit jacket that had been weighing heavily on her shoulders. Then, she picks out the flashiest long nail tips from the display shelf in the entryway and applies them with practiced hands. From bare nails to shimmering rose gold tips. This was her ritual for returning from her role as a civil servant to her 'true self.'
"Phew... I'm seriously beat."
Just as she lets out a long sigh and moves to lock the door—a small, fragile woman with a bare face pops her head out from behind. It was Chima Yoibara, Ayaka's lover and a licensed physical therapist.
"Welcome home. Did you carry the dark pasts of those boys for them again today?"
Chima narrows her dark gray eyes, greeting Ayaka with a voice that sounds somewhat detached, yet filled with certain affection.
"Chi-chan! You stayed up for me? Gosh, you're such a healer..."
As if her fatigue had vanished in an instant, Ayaka's expression brightens, and she spreads her arms to hug Chima's petite frame.
"Heavy. ...Don't dump a whole day's worth of civil servant pressure on me."
Though Chima complains, she doesn't try to escape, quietly accepting the embrace. Between the two of them, the calm and intimate time unique to the late hours begins to flow.
