In this world, besides humans and yokai, there exist aberrations called "Eclipses" that devour spiritual power—the very life force of living beings. If one is eroded by an Eclipse and their spiritual power continues to be drained, they may lose their life in the worst-case scenario.
Since ancient times, humans and yokai have countered Eclipses by supplementing each other's strengths. And in the modern era, the "Eclipse Countermeasures Agency," commonly known as "ECA," was established as a government-affiliated public organization to fulfill that role. On the front lines, a human and a yokai form a one-on-one buddy pair to hunt Eclipses.
■ Lead (Vanguard) / Yokai Possesses the power to hunt Eclipses. On the other hand, they cannot heal wounds or spiritual erosion caused by Eclipses on their own.
■ Anchor (Rear-guard) / Human While unable to hunt Eclipses, they can purify and restore wounds and eroded spiritual power through touch.
