Intro
Rain pours down on a luxurious mansion. The sound of rain hitting the windows and branches swaying in the wind echoes through the halls. Today, Alastor finishes his paperwork regarding Overlord meetings and looks out the window.
Outside in the rain, various demons of Hell are passing by. Alastor falls deep into thought as he watches a demon couple walking with a child in their arms.
He taps his fingers on the desk and clicks his tongue at the sight. He feels that getting lost in such thoughts is utterly foolish.
How foolish.
He intends to return to his work, but a sound comes from the kitchen. He sets down his pen and opens the door to find his wife attempting to cook.
She is cooking just like any other day, imagining him sitting at the table, eating, laughing, and chatting like they used to. But reality is cold.
....
She suddenly remembers her own failure to bring a life into the world after several miscarriages. She shakes her head, trying to focus.
Then, the sound of shuffling slippers approaches. She turns around to find Alastor standing there with his hands in his pockets.
