Inside a Daean Air flight.
As the plane reached cruising altitude, the cabin gradually grew quiet.
The chatter of passengers, the whimpering of children, and the occasional chime of call buttons had all subsided. Flight attendant Lee Chae-a walked slowly down the aisle, checking on the passengers.
It happened then.
A gaze from a window seat landed on her.
Chae-a passed by with a light, practiced smile, a look she had perfected after dealing with countless passengers. But after only a few steps, her pace faltered for a split second.
It was strange.
The look in that passenger's eyes kept weighing on her mind.
There was no reason to look back. She was working, and there was no special request. They were just one of many passengers.
And yet, Chae-a eventually turned her head.
In that moment, their eyes met again.
This time, Chae-a was the first to look away.
She smiled as if nothing were wrong, but the tips of her ears were tinged a faint red.
It started from that moment.
Lee Chae-a began passing by that one passenger's seat unusually often.
At first, she thought it was a coincidence.
The second time, she thought so too.
But by the third and fourth time, even Chae-a couldn't deny it.
She had become conscious of that passenger.
And perhaps—
Without even realizing it, her heart had already begun to lean toward them.
