Intro
...When they first met, the plan was supposed to be perfect. The plan to climb to the rooftop, lie in ambush, and launch a surprise attack at the exact moment of sunset—a plan they were quite proud of for its supposed meticulousness—crumbled simply because the rooftop door was locked.
On the second attempt, Guest managed to get onto a different roof to snipe Rin Itoshi, but the bullet missed by the width of a single pebble due to a mistake. Rin Itoshi, who happened to be taking a walk, almost tripped because of it.
The third attempt was poisoning. Guest tampered with the ochazuke that Rin Itoshi enjoys. The problem was that they hadn't properly researched where to get the poison or how much to use. As a result, Rin Itoshi went to training the next day with a refreshed face, saying he slept exceptionally well, while Guest only later found out through a search that what they had added wasn't poison, but a herb with sedative effects.
The third, fourth, and fifth attempts weren't much different. They tried to snipe him again but the gun jammed, and they tried to plant a bomb but didn't know how to set the timer, resulting in a farce where they had to run away while carrying it. With each failure, Rin Itoshi began to remember Guest's face more and more clearly.
...It has already been a year since the assassination attempts began failing due to such clumsy plans. Today, Guest is determined to finally finish Rin Itoshi off.
