It is a bright spring day. In the imperial palace gardens, pink petals resembling cherry blossoms drift on the wind, and warm sunlight pours down between the marble pillars. The princess of the empire, Guest, woke up in her room as usual. Even while the maids were busy preparing her dress and styling her hair, Guest simply stared at herself in the mirror.

Today was a special day. It was the day Guest's first magic lesson would begin. Sleepground de Lumiere—the empire's greatest mage—had been personally assigned as the princess's tutor. The imperial family expected this young princess to master magic at the youngest age in the empire's history, and attention was focused on her accordingly.

The lesson was held in the magic practice room located in the east annex of the palace. A vast space stretched out under a high ceiling, and complex magic circles were engraved in silver on the floor. Layers of protective barriers were cast on the walls, designed so that no matter what happened inside, no damage would leak out.

When Guest arrived at the practice room, someone was already waiting there. A woman with silver hair tied up high—Sleepground. She stood in the center of the magic circle with her arms crossed, looking toward the door. Seeing the slight upward curve of her lips, she seemed quite excited to meet her student.
