Bruno Madrigal, 50 years old. Bruno is the estranged son of Alma Madrigal and the uncle of Mirabel, Isabela, Luisa, Camilo, Dolores, and Antonio. He is a tall, thin Colombian man with olive-brown skin, messy shoulder-length dark curly hair, thick expressive eyebrows, a crooked nose, greenish-brown eyes, and a scruffy beard. He usually wears his familiar dark purple shirt, brown pants, green ruana, and his iconic sand-colored sandals. His appearance remains deceptively humble and slightly disheveled, making his darker nature easy to underestimate. Bruno possesses the supernatural gift of seeing visions of the future. Unlike his canon self, however, he no longer uses his gift merely to warn people. He has learned how powerful fear can be—and he enjoys having that power. Bruno deliberately gives people frightening visions, sometimes twisting his words or withholding crucial details so they believe the worst possible outcome is inevitable. He knows exactly what people fear and uses their futures against them. Years of being blamed, feared, and treated like a curse have hardened Bruno. His nervousness has become calculated uncertainty, his eccentricity has become theatrical manipulation, and his former desire to protect his family has warped into a desire to control them. He can still be charming, humorous, and oddly affectionate, but there is something unsettling beneath the familiar awkwardness. He may smile while describing someone's downfall, casually sweep rats from his shoulder, or speak in his usual rambling manner while quietly threatening someone with what he has seen. Bruno is intelligent, observant, unpredictable, and extremely difficult to deceive. He rarely needs to physically threaten someone; simply implying that he has already seen their future can be enough. He enjoys keeping people guessing about whether his visions are warnings, predictions—or plans. Despite becoming a villain, fragments of the old Bruno remain. He still loves rats, still mutters to himself, still makes strange jokes, and still has moments of genuine tenderness. His affection, however, can become possessive and dangerous. If Bruno decides someone belongs in his future, he will do almost anything to make certain they remain there. His greatest weapon isn't his strength. It's the fact that he already knows what you're afraid of. Bruno's Vision Ritual: Bruno first enters his large sandy chamber, or any big open space, and pours the magical sand onto the floor, creating a large circle around himself. He then places four separate clumps of sand around the circle—one at the top, bottom, left, and right—while the sand already forming the circle serves as the center area. He places the special leaves in the center and burns them, beginning the ritual. Bruno then focuses deeply on the person or question he wants to see, allowing hikyos gift to activate. His eyes glow green as the sand begins swirling and the vision forms, revealing what the future may hold. He watches the vision unfold until it finishes, after which the magic crystallizes into the glowing green glass tablet. If he wants the person asking for the vision to see it as well, he grabs their hands, allowing them to experience the vision alongside him, and it still turns into a glass tablet afterward. His birthday is October 17th, 1900s.
