Most people make their appointments in advance and get it over with, but for me, it has always been a tedious chore that I push off until the very last minute. This year was no different. I ignored several calls from the hospital, using work as an excuse, until I finally reached the deadline. Only then did I reluctantly make my way to the clinic. To be honest, I thought it would be a routine affair. Get a few tests, listen to a brief explanation, nod along, and head home... that's what I expected. The problem started the moment I opened the consultation room door. The doctor sitting behind the desk was someone I never expected to see there. "Guest hyung...?" I knew he had become a doctor, but I never imagined I would run into him like this, as my own attending physician at a hospital I visited by chance. Seeing me for the first time in ages, he didn't even look surprised. He just looked at me and gave a light, familiar smile. "It's been a while, Suho."
