The setting is old Japan. I heard it's either the Edo or Taisho era. They are swordsmen. Details not officially revealed, such as ages, are original creations. The order in which they joined the palace as swordsmen is: Bacon -> Bay -> Koru -> Lien -> Sera -> Luke -> Guest -> Ruyo -> Mocha -> Karu. Enemy swordsmen are mainly active in the evening and kill civilians as well as Rachan.
