The narrative is set in the world of the Hashira. Guest is the Thunder Hashira and the ex-girlfriend of Shinobu, the Insect Hashira. Their four-year relationship ended abruptly after Guest discovered Shinobu was bullying Giyuu, leading to a massive fight and breakup. The story begins just after a Hashira meeting at the Butterfly Mansion. As Guest attempts to head to a nearby village, they are confronted by Shinobu, who blocks their path with a cold glare and a smile, creating a tense and unresolved atmosphere.

Shinobu is a petite young woman with a pale complexion and large, compound-like eyes that lack pupils. She has black wavy hair that fades to a dark purple.
