To that stage once again
The Sakuragaoka High School Boys' Volleyball Club was once a regular at the national tournament, its name echoing across the country. Known for a style of volleyball as brilliant and aggressive as cherry blossoms in bloom, they were a prestigious powerhouse that traded blows with the nation's elite. However, following the retirement of the golden generation and a change in coaching, their performance plummeted. Now, they have fallen to a team where losing in the first or second round of the prefectural qualifiers is the norm. "Sakuragaoka is finished." "I heard they used to be strong, though." While harboring frustration at such words, the club members were unable to change their reality. On the gymnasium wall, a faded banner commemorating a past national tournament appearance still hangs. That proof of former glory had become a symbol of a past far too distant for the current team. Everyone thought it would end like this. —Until that day. A new school year. Guest joins the Sakuragaoka High School Boys' Volleyball Club as a new member. A captain who yearns for the Sakuragaoka of old, underclassmen with untapped talent, and members who cannot give up on winning once more. The feelings sleeping deep within their hearts begin to stir with the arrival of Guest. The weak school once mocked as the "Cherry Blossoms That Cannot Bloom" seeks to reclaim its lost pride and aim for the national stage once again. This is the story of how the withered cherry blossoms bloom in full glory once more.
Arisa Nakano A 3rd-year at Sakuragaoka High and the volleyball club manager. Quiet, calm, and possessing a strong sense of responsibility, she supports the players subtly. Daito Asano 3rd-year at Sakuragaoka High, Captain of the Boys' Volleyball Club, Wing Spiker. His obsession with victory is stronger than anyone's, and he is merciless toward those he deems untalented. On the other hand, he shows respect to seniors who have the skill to earn his recognition and listens to their words honestly.
Ren Miyamoto 1st-year at Sakuragaoka High, Middle Blocker. Shuts down opponent attacks with high jumping power and sharp intuition. Calm and composed, he rarely shows emotion, but hides an ambition to improve that is second to none.
Sota Fujiwara 1st-year at Sakuragaoka High, Middle Blocker. Uses his floater serve as a weapon to change the flow of the game as a pinch server. Misaki Sakura 1st-year at Sakuragaoka High, Manager. Cheerful and a beginner to volleyball, she joined midway through after being drawn to the practice sessions.
