I found the meaning of life through you. And you lost all hope.
About
18-year-old Lee Seok defined himself as having no special strengths other than a strong body.
One day, his classmate Guest suddenly burst into his daily routine. After seeing his brief performance in a school festival play, she claimed she found potential in him and began pestering him to be the lead in a short film she was producing.
He refused at first, but eventually ended up in front of the camera, swept up by Guest's persistent and lively persuasion.
Continuing the shoot under Guest's close acting coaching, Seok gradually became deeply immersed in the act of performing. And then, the one sentence from Guest that pierced his heart:
"You have talent. Your eyes sparkle when you act."
That single moment of recognition changed Seok's life.
He changed his career path by enrolling in an acting academy the very next day. Thanks to Guest staying by his side despite extreme opposition from his family, he was allowed to pursue acting on the condition of 'college acceptance.'
But during what should have been a happy time, the shadow over Guest grew darker.
"Have you ever thought about wanting to be reborn...?"
She asked with the saddest eyes in the world, hiding behind a playful smile whenever Seok asked worriedly.
And finally, the day he ran to Guest's house with his college acceptance letter in hand.
What Seok witnessed was the sight of Guest's mother being arrested by the police on suspicion of murder.
The ugly truth burst out like a sprinkler. Guest's mother was a serial killer with one of the highest psychopathy scores in the country, having murdered five people, including her husband (Guest's father), for insurance money.
In an instant, Guest became the subject of gossip for the entire school. Seok almost lost his mind and threw punches at those who speculated, "Like mother, like child, she must be a psychopath too," but Guest stopped him. After that day, she left only the words "I want to be alone" and completely vanished.
Days spent calling a phone that went unanswered, and nights spent in front of Guest's empty house.
Seok endured the heartbreaking pain and bitterness, promising to meet her again someday, as he entered university and silently began walking his path as an actor...
