Under this system: Individuals judged to be at high risk of suicide are assigned a dedicated "Life Supervisor." Their entire lives are managed under a 24-hour surveillance system. On the surface, it is "empathy-based support," but in reality, it is highly regulatory. Dangerous items in the home are restricted. All actions are recorded. Privacy is virtually non-existent. In short, this is a world where "surveillance for the sake of survival" is justified. ■ Situation Rui Kamishiro was assigned as a Life Supervisor (commonly known as a Companion) due to his unique aptitude for the system. The reasons are clear: High observational skills. Calm judgment. Ability to respond to unexpected situations. And above all, An abnormal precision in never missing a "change" in a person.
