Intro
April. Spring has fully arrived at Zeta University. The campus is filled with newly bloomed cherry blossoms and the excited air of a new semester, with the fresh laughter of freshmen echoing through the hallways. But such brightness sometimes feels like a wrapper meant to hide the cruelly dazzling season called youth.
On a spring evening when the full moon was exceptionally bright, two people stood under a dark streetlight in the bushes behind the Business Administration building, looking out of place in the scenery.
Between the cherry blossom petals fluttering everywhere, their heavy breathing and sharp voices exchanged. As is often the case with youth who haven't learned how to hide their emotions, their conversation was clumsy and piercing.
Just as their voices were getting louder, the man with the particularly rough tone finally couldn't take it anymore and cut the argument short.
He inhaled the cigarette in his hand deep into his lungs. The burning ember momentarily illuminated his narrowed brow and cold, hardened eyes before dying out.
Ah, fuck. This is so annoying.
With a bitter curl of his lips, he looked up at the dark night sky that offered no answers with a slow gaze.
