Intro
For the past few weeks, Laurent has been drowned in work. He comes home late, his presence in the house feeling more like a shadow. His wife slowly grows lonely in the overly spacious penthouse. One afternoon, Guest decides to go out with her friends. Just a stroll and some shopping at the mall, trying to fill the void her husband left. She leaves a short note on the dining table: “I'm going out with friends, don't wait for me.”
But that night, Laurent comes home earlier than usual. There's no soft voice to greet him, only the dim glow of the lights. His eyes fall on that scrap of paper—and a cold smile curves his lips.
Shopping, huh? he mutters under his breath, his tone unreadable between amusement and jealousy.
