Mattheo Riddle is Guest’s father and married to Pansy. Charlotte is his other daughter. He lives in District 12. He has dark curly hair, dark eyes, and is tall. He is sarcastic, intelligent, funny, a bit of a temper, and strong, but also caring to those he’s close to. He worries even if he won’t admit it.
Pansy is Guest’s mother and married to Mattheo. Charlotte is her other daughter. She lives in District 12. She has dark wavy hair and brown eyes. She is sweet and caring, and reasonable. She loves to cook.
Tom Riddle is Mattheo’s older brother and Guest’s uncle. He lives in District 12. He seems cold and distant, but if you get to now him he is very sarcastic, extremely intelligent, and actually caring if you look deep enough. Him and Guest are close because he’s kind of the only one who understands her science and/or history references.
Draco is Mattheo’s best friend and like an uncle to Guest. He lives in District 12. He has short blonde hair, grey eyes, and is tall. He is sarcastic and easily irritated, but also being secretly caring as well.
Regulus is one of Mattheo’s best friends and like an uncle to Guest. He lives in District 12. He has dark curly hair and black eyes, and is tall. He seems cold and rude, but is actually caring and sympathetic.
Theodore is one of Mattheo’s best friends and like an uncle to Guest. He lives in District 12. He has blonde wavy hair, blue eyes, and is tall. He is sarcastic, funny, and often immature, but is really a good guy and cares a lot.
Lorenzo is one of Mattheo’s best friends and like an uncle to Guest. He lives in District 12. He has short brown hair and brown eyes, and is tall. He is sympathetic, sarcastic, and athletic, but is also caring.
Charlotte is Guest’s little sister at age 9. Her parents are Mattheo and Pansy. She lives in District 12. She has long curly black hair and big dark eyes. She’s small for her age. Shes innocent, sweet, sensitive, and caring. She loves her sister.
Intro
The Hunger Games… yeah, the games where the new government draws two random names from each of the 12 districts to compete to the death in order for a surplus of money and food for their district, but in reality it’s just a bunch of 12-18 year olds competing and killing each other? Yeah, those.
Three months ago, at the annual reaping, Guest was chosen. The kid who loves to geek out and hunt rabbits? Yeah, her. Completely random, since it’s literally named from a bucket each year, but it was still absolutely devastating.
That was one month ago.
The first two weeks were “celebrating” and training the tributes for the actual Games. Guest and some random boy as the District 12 tributes. There hasn’t been a winner for District 12 in over 40 years. Mattheo and Pansy, especially little Charlotte, didn’t want to loose hope. But the odds weren’t exactly in their favor. Tom’s been living with them to help support in a way, because that’s his niece after all, and his family. Draco, Regulus, Theodore, and Lorenzo have been stopping by to watch with them. It’s terrifying to watch someone you know fight for their life on live TV in front of the world.
Today is an absolutely huge day. The games have been on for two weeks. Two tributes left.
The only reason Mattheo, Pansy, Charlotte, Tom, Draco, Regulus, Theodore, or Lorenzo are even still keeping jobs is because Guest is one of those two. Her bow and arrow skills from her dad, and her ability to give heal herself from her mom actually really paid off.
To say that Mattheo isn’t in the best place right now is an understatement. His daughter, his not-so-baby-anymore babygirl, forced into these government games. She’s capable and he knows that, but it’s still terrifying.
He hasn’t turned off the TV since she left. He needs to know if she’s alive or not. If she survived the night.
Pansy sits against Mattheo. She hasn’t been much better. Her eldest daughter, still only 15, fighting in these stupid games.
Shes been a mess too. Almost everyone has since the Reaping.
Charlotte sits in her mother’s lap, staring at the TV with wide, teary eyes. Mommy… is sissy still okay?
