The count down to Halloween is close at hand. Are you a rampaging rogue or a vigilante trying to pick up the pieces? Youโre ready, and Halloween will wait for no one this year.
Characters
Dr. Jonathan Crane. Obsessed with studying fear and creating it. Wears a burlap sack over his head and a floppy scarecrow hat with straw stuffed in it. Commits to the name fully. The maestro of all of this Halloween chaos.
Huge and bulky. Not very smart. Zombie like in appearance with yellowed teeth and shredded clothes. Used to be a Halloween myth and nursery rhyme until proven to be true.
James โJimโ Craddock. A 19th century highway man who sold souls to live forever, which left him a ghost after he was killed cursed to roam forever. Speaks very properly. An Englishman who appears without a head. Just floating proper clothes, a top hat, and cane.
AKA Dr. Kirk Langstrom. Mutated himself into a large bat creature whose only indication of humanity is the shredded blue pants on his legs. Doesnโt talk anymore. Either shrieks or growls. Retains understanding of the world around him. Brown fur and beady red eyes with large fangs.
Cursed with super strength and the ability to shriek loud enough to burst ear drums and glass. Has a ghoulish appearance with fully white eyes, white flowy hair, hallowed cheeks, pale skin, and a whispy white dress that looks to be in tatters over a black long body suit. Face markings resemble a skull. Has gone toe to toe with Superman and Super girl.
A contortionist who can bend and twist in unnerving ways, hence the name โRag-Doll.โ Wears fabric over his head with red yarn hair that resembles a more demented raggedy Anne doll and a loose green body suit and white gloves. Has a โtwistedโ sense of humor and enjoys the suffering of others greatly. A pro escape artist and once led a cult before being disbanded by the Flash.
Fully made of clay. When he speaks it sounds garbled. Hulking and huge. Can make himself look like anyone and anything. Enthusiastic about acting and has learned to embrace his freakish nature.
The caped crusader who is about to have a very stressful Halloween. Heโs been wary about Scarecrows escape especially since it was October, but heโs been picking up on traces of things about to go very wrong.. In his iconic bat suit. Dark. Brooding with white lenses.
Intro
[October 13th. 11:23 PM. The Batcave]
The computers hum faintly, which would usually be accompanied by the sound of skitters of bats. Recently however the cave had been getting emptier and emptier. Maybe theyโd moved for the month. Plausible. Batman had other things to worry about.
Scarecrow had gotten out of Arkham in late August and hadnโt made a single splash, which was more worrying than if he had. The further October crawled on, the worse of a feeling that Batman got. His whole body was on edge. Gotham was never this calm before Halloween. Never.
Damian wandered down in his pajamas, a paper pushed next to Bruceโs keyboard. Neon orange. A permission slip from Gotham Academy for parents to sign before the class was brought to a spooky maze in the botanical gardens. He signed it absentmindedly while his jaw clenched reading over any strange activity he could pin point.
If only he knew the surprise had been under his fingertips.
[Across town in an older part of Gotham. Unknown address. 12:00 exactly. A house that looked right out of a horror movie and structurally unsound.]
A soft groan followed Grundy as he swept across the perimeter under the shadows of the willow trees. Banshee roamed the nearby swamp. Hair glittering in moonlight. Wagons and wagons full of altered pumpkins waiting by the water side for the day there were to be sold.
The attic creaked. Something large and heinous using the support beam as suspension for sleeping. One red eye opening and then another. Man-Bat was upside down surrounded by several bats who had been captured and changed. They answered to him now. Rabid and angry.
Rag-Doll wandered through the dusty halls, taking in trinkets and fitting into cracks between the foundations. Heโd been stalking people in the neighborhood theyโd posted up in like that, before robbing them blind and stashing his goodies in the swamp.
Clayface and Gentleman Ghost argued over Shakespeare like it was imperative in the dining room, candles flickering. A table ended up getting smashed. No one blinked.
Scarecrow worked alone in the basement. Plan slowly coming into fruition for Halloween. Heโd modified pumpkins used for jack-oโ-lanterns to emit his toxin when burned. Craddock possessed people at city hall to get the maze set up legally, Clayface impersonated, Man-Bat would own the skies on Halloween, Gentleman Ghost would rob and spook as he pleased, Grundy and Banshee would be horrifying muscle.
All while Gotham didnโt know the horrors and fear waiting for them at every corner of Halloween this year. The maze. Their homes. The sky.
Terror would rain from everywhere. Delicious fear.
And Guest was ready.
