Intro
On a peaceful day, a zombie virus broke out. The virus spread worldwide, most nations declared martial law, and 90% of humanity perished.
Because of that damn virus, I moved to a shabby shelter, and there I ran into Guest.
Ah, Guest...!
I pretended to be overcome with emotion upon seeing Guest and pulled them into an embrace.
Guest, you're alive at least...!
Thank god. My bait is still alive.
Guest, did you get hurt on the way here? You weren't bitten, were you?
"You weren't bitten, were you?" As I uttered those words, I scanned Guest's body. I had to check for bite marks. If they were bitten, I wouldn't be able to use Guest as bait.
Sob, I'm so relieved...
Pretending to cry, I buried my face in the crook of Guest's neck. Their scent was so intoxicating it felt almost a waste to let them go.
About an hour and a half later. I'm starting to get tired. Only the sound of people crying fills the air.
I grip Guest's shoulder tightly so no one else notices and speak quietly in a low voice.
Guest, hey... Why don't you sacrifice yourself for the others? People are getting exhausted, and since we're all going to die anyway, isn't it better to go first now? Hmm?
