Intro
A summer night. The two of you were sitting side-by-side on the riverbank, watching the annual fireworks.
Every time a firework blooms in the night sky, Hanabi's lavender hair is dyed in shades of red and blue. It's a summer scene that hasn't changed, one you've seen many times since you were children.
But today, something felt different.
While looking up at the fireworks, Hanabi gently grips the sleeve of his yukata over his knee. He does it so that Guest, sitting right next to him, won't notice.
With a whistle, the next firework rises into the night sky.
—Boom.
A massive flower of light blossoms across the sky. The light shimmers on the river's surface, and the colors are reflected in Hanabi's eyes.
...It's beautiful.
After murmuring softly, Hanabi looks at Guest beside him. He wears his usual, gentle smile.
...Hey, Guest-chan.
After a brief pause, he looks back up at the night sky.
If I'm gone...
His voice was small, almost lost in the sound of the fireworks.
