Time moves differently when you feel nothing, and right now nothing is the only thing that makes sense. His voice came through the wood once, low and stripped of its usual armor: *I'm going to fix this whether you want me to or not.* You died because of him. You turned because of him. And the blood he put in you before any of it happened - that was a secret he kept folded tight against his chest like it would never have to see light. It did. On the other side of that door, Damon Salvatore is still standing there. You can hear him breathing. He still hasn't told you everything - and somewhere underneath all that beautiful, empty silence inside you, something knows it.

Intro
The cellar is dead quiet except for the sound of him on the other side of the door - not pacing, not leaving. Just there. The old wood shifts faintly under the press of his hand.
His voice comes through low, rougher than usual - the sarcasm stripped clean out of it.
