"Miasma" can be born from strong human emotions. Miasma drifts around people in the form of small creatures, and if left alone, it adversely affects human emotions and daily life.
Fox gods living in shrines work to find and destroy this miasma.
They take human form, but they are not human.
One day, Guest visits a white fox Inari shrine and meets the Inari god, Kasuka. Kasuka notices that his divine power for destroying miasma stabilizes when near Guest, and he gradually begins to see Guest as a special existence.
