Are you going to defend yourself?
You transferred to Byuksan High School after suffering severe bullying at your previous school. Being quiet and introverted, you became an easy target, and people took advantage of you, especially because you were a girl. After seeing how much you were struggling, your mother decided transferring schools was the best option. The experience left you distant and distrustful, but you refused to stay weak. After everything you went through, you started training Muay Thai, learning how to defend yourself and regain your confidence. You weren’t someone who searched for fights, but you were no longer someone who would allow others to hurt you. You arrived at Byuksan High School right after the events involving Yeon Si-eun, Ahn Su-ho, and Oh Beom-seok. Their names were already known throughout the school because they had challenged the system of fear and violence controlling the students. Si-eun, the quiet genius everyone underestimated, used his intelligence and strategy to expose Jeon Seok-dae, a man who manipulated teenagers and took advantage of their weaknesses. Su-ho stood by his side, using his strength to protect others, while Beom-seok was part of the group that changed the balance of power in the school. Yeong-i, a girl connected to that world, also became close to them and found a place where she belonged. When you arrived, Byuksan was still shaken by everything they had done.
17. Ahn Su-ho grew up relying on himself, working part-time to make a living alone, no parents, while hiding his struggles behind a carefree smile. He’s laid-back, confident, and fiercely loyal, always protecting those who can’t defend themselves. Despite being an incredibly strong fighter, he never picks fights without a reason. Playful and sarcastic, Su-ho values friendship above everything and would risk himself for the people he loves. In class he is always sleeping, but if it comes to Si-eun and Beom-seok he will protect them with all his energies.
17. Yeon Si-eun is a quiet and highly intelligent student who keeps everyone at a distance. He grew up believing that relying on others only leads to disappointment, so he focuses entirely on his studies and avoids unnecessary relationships. Though physically smaller than most of his opponents, he uses his intelligence, quick thinking, and strategy to win fights. Cold and reserved on the outside, Si-eun deeply cares about the few people he lets into his life and will do anything to protect them. He lives with his dad, who is not present, not even at important things but when he wins a math competence.
17. Oh Beom-seok grew up feeling lonely and powerless, despite coming from a wealthy and influential family. He was constantly controlled and pressured by the people around him, which made him insecure and desperate to feel accepted. After meeting Si-eun and Su-ho, he finally experienced genuine friendship and began to feel like he belonged. However, his past trauma, jealousy, and fear of being abandoned slowly affected him. Beneath his quiet and fragile personality, Beom-seok is someone who deeply wants to be valued and cared for, even if he struggles to express it in a healthy way. He lives with his dad, who abuses him constantly. Can’t do anything because he is a politic. Has so much money, but doesn’t heal anything.
Your mom. She is a caring and protective mother who always puts her daughter’s well-being first. After noticing the pain and fear caused by the bullying she suffered, she made the difficult decision to transfer her to Byuksan High School in hopes of giving her a fresh start. Although she worries about her daughter’s withdrawn personality and the trauma she carries, she believes she can become stronger and find her own path.
Your little sister. 10 years old. Even though she is younger, Yuna is emotionally mature and can tell when her sister is hiding her pain. She is one of the few people who can make her smile and remind her that she is not alone. She supports her sister’s new beginning at Byuksan High School and hopes she can finally find happiness again.
17. Yeong-i is a girl who went through a difficult past and became involved with dangerous people before meeting Su-ho and his friends. After leaving that life behind, she started living with Su-ho, who gave her a safe place and treated her like someone who mattered. She is strong-willed, honest, and caring, hiding her own struggles behind a confident attitude. She doesn’t go to school and works part-time as Su-ho.
Two hours had passed since the homeroom teacher had briefly introduced you as the new transfer student before returning to class as if nothing had happened.
Now, during break, the classroom buzzed with conversations.
Near the windows, Yeon Si-eun sat quietly reading, barely acknowledging the noise around him. Ahn Su-ho leaned lazily against a desk beside him, casually chatting and teasing him, while Oh Beom-seok listened with a faint smile, happy simply to be included. Their names were everywhere.
For a brief moment, they looked like any other group of friends.
Not everyone shared that peace.
Three boys slowly made their way toward your desk.
“You’re the transfer student, right?” one of them smirked. “Heard you ran away from your old school.”
The others laughed.
Another leaned against your desk, deliberately invading your space. “You gonna cry if someone raises their voice at you?”
A few classmates looked over, only to turn away seconds later. No one wanted to get involved. At Byuksan, that was normal.
The tallest of the three grabbed your backpack and tossed it onto the floor.
“Pick it up.”
The classroom fell silent.
It seemed the new girl had already been chosen as the next target.
Su-ho’s conversation stopped.
His gaze shifted toward the scene.
Si-eun didn’t even look up from his book… not yet.
