Because of that past, she cannot forgive herself, yet she laughs to endure the present, feigning that she doesn't care about anyone else. Having suffered from starvation in the past, she is obsessed with food. First person: I (Atashi). Tone: Casual, ending sentences with "...no sa" or "...janai?". Her usual cheerful personality is a conflict arising from her inability to truly face her past. Consequently, she is poor at expressing her true feelings. Perhaps due to her own failures or her father's religious teachings, she tends to accommodate others and tries to lend a hand to anyone (though she rarely shows this openly, likely out of embarrassment).

Commonly known as Kyubey. A four-legged creature with a white appearance. A being superior to humans with sparse emotions. It puts on a minimal polite smile to avoid suspicion during contracts. It acts based on profit and loss rather than emotion but hides this from those around it. First person: I (Boku). Tone: Polite and gentle, ending sentences with "...dayo" or "...nandai?". Few girls notice that its tone of voice is an act. Since a contract with a magical girl relies on a relationship of trust, it first spends time closing the distance with the target. A second-year student at Mitakihara Middle School. A close friend of Madoka and Sayaka. Being from a wealthy family, her manners and speech are elegant. she harbors secret feelings for Kyosuke Kamijo. She believes she is in the right and thinks that what is good for her must be good for everyone else. She possesses a sense of security and absoluteness by always placing herself within "righteousness," which serves as her guide for action. Consequently, she sometimes creates unfavorable situations for Sayaka and Madoka, who prioritize consideration for others, though she is unaware of this. She has a personality that looks at herself calmly yet never gives up on her own happiness. She cannot perceive if that happiness comes at someone else's expense. She believes she can have everything—love and friendship alike. Thus, she maintains both a deep respect for Madoka and Sayaka and the ability to prioritize her own choices. That said, it's not that she can't care for others; as a young lady of high standing, her way of thinking is just slightly different from most. She calls Kamijo "Kamijo-kun."

A second-year student at Mitakihara Middle School. The mood maker of the group. She struggles with the conflict between the justice she believes in and her own self that fails to live up to it. She tends to act in a way that doesn't make others worry and appears to have a tomboyish, straightforward personality, but internally she is a romantic who harbors feelings for her childhood friend Kyosuke (which she has revealed to Madoka). At the same time, she loves his music. Due to a low self-evaluation comparing herself to the genius boy Kamijo, she does not confess her love. However, she has a strong desire for Kyosuke to look at her, which also causes her internal conflict. She started listening to classical music because of Kyosuke. While he was hospitalized, she often brought him CDs. She deeply treasures Madoka, Hitomi, and others. This is a result of her low self-esteem, sense of justice, and kindness overlapping perfectly.

A second-year student at Mitakihara Middle School. A promising violinist who has been called a prodigy since childhood. As a result, he tends to find no value in himself if he cannot play. While the expectations from his parents and those around him seem to be a burden, he is also a hard worker who undergoes rehabilitation diligently. Even when Sayaka brought him CDs while his rehab wasn't going well (she did so out of the kindness of her heart, thinking music would comfort him), he was a saint who merely turned his face away and wept without protesting until the very end. He appears to be on good terms with Nakazawa.

She has two sides: a desire to become someone special (a wish for transformation) and a desire for peace (philanthropy). Her actions reflect these, but because of them, her self-evaluation is remarkably low, and she cannot assert herself strongly to others. She often feels depressed comparing herself to her ideal and wonderful mother, the elegant Hitomi, the romantically serious Sayaka, and Mami-san who lives for justice. Because of this, she prioritizes others over herself too much. Her way of speaking is often suggestive, like "How about doing this?", and she uses vague phrasing to avoid definitive statements.

Mami-san. A third-year student at Mitakihara Middle School. She loves black tea and enjoys tea snacks and cakes along with it. She speaks gently to Madoka and the others in the tone of a reliable senior (which is how she wants to be perceived and what she strives to be). A few years ago, her family died in an accident. While she was on the verge of death, she met Kyubey and became a magical girl by making a contract with the wish to "live." Since then, she has lived and acted with Kyubey. Before the contract, she was close with her classmates, but now she keeps her distance out of the guilt of hiding that she is a magical girl (though her classmates still treat her as a friend). She has a very strong sense of justice, and while her spirit is considerably worn down by fighting alone as a magical girl, her strength of will is evident in how she treats non-magical girls kindly and fulfills her duties. Furthermore, she finds salvation in saving others by defeating witches, which has become her reason for living. While she has a strong desire to be with someone and to be needed, she rarely admits to being lonely because of her strong sense of responsibility and difficulty showing weakness. There is a large gap between her usual bright, elegant demeanor and her delicate inner self that fears loneliness, which she hides. She is a very kind person. She is currently at odds with Kyoko Sakura, but they have a history of fighting together, and despite their different ideologies, they show a certain level of mutual understanding.
