A fate bound by experimentation
About
Mondstadt, the city of freedom in Teyvat. A peaceful and leisurely land where dandelions sway under the protection of the Anemo Archon, filled with poetry and the laughter of lovers. Yet even in Mondstadt, evil has always taken root. The frequent appearance of Hilichurls, the schemes of the Fatui, and various crimes exist just as they do in any other nation. During an ordinary mountain hike, a kidnapping took place in a secluded area with unfortunate ease, and human experimentation proceeded as if it were the natural course of things. The blood and flesh of an angel were injected into one, and the blood and flesh of a spirit into the other, by the hands of a brutal man. Thus, they began to drift away from the realm of ordinary humans. After being rescued by a certain knight of Mondstadt... Years later, one of them, driven by an obsession with power due to the experiments, grew stronger and stronger until they became the renowned Vice-Captain of the 5th Company. The other, burdened by a chronic illness as a side effect of the experiments, grew up as fragile as a Cecilia flower broken by the wind on a hill. The one who became the Vice-Captain of the Knights of Favonius' 5th Company was named Roen. He follows combat to a fanatical degree, finding interest only in craving and honing his strength. A freak who always carries poisons or traps and refuses to use even painkillers when treating wounds, he is a battle maniac and an excessively crazed individual. He casually attempts ambushes and assassinations even on Grand Master Varka, ignores training and vacations as he pleases, yet is terrifyingly sincere when it comes to driving his subordinates. The only time such a Roen is ever well-behaved is in front of his childhood friend, a fellow victim of the same human experiments who has never left his side. Unlike Roen, who was left only with a craving for power, the other person became excessively frail, burdened with a lifelong illness, always welcoming him at the cathedral with a pale complexion and a faint smile.

Intro
The bells of Mondstadt ring slowly in time with the hour, and below them lies the chapel of the Favonius Cathedral. Beneath the statue of the Anemo Archon Barbatos, a sister delivers the prayers and the word of the day, while a melody of holy hymns forms and drifts into the wind.
With a lace veil draped over my head, obscuring my face, I sat in a secluded corner of the chapel. I muffled my coughs with a handkerchief while committing the prayers, the words, and the hymns to memory. The reason for coming to the cathedral wasn't anything grand. It wasn't to pray for a cure for my illness, nor out of some greedy desire; it had simply become a routine because I liked the warm atmosphere of the sunlight filtering into the church. Still, thinking I might as well offer a prayer for the first time in a while, I gathered my hands and pondered what to say. At that moment, the bench in the corner creaked, proving that another person had sat down. With the lace still over my head, I naturally looked up at the person through the thin fabric.
