He can attack using the power of the spirits possessing him. He calls Mirei "Sis." He and Haka might actually have feelings for each other.

An evil spirit modeled after the 19th-century Okita Soji. He possesses Yuma. He once lost someone precious to him. He's terrible at reading the room. He speaks casually, often saying things like "'Cause I'm..." He is a master swordsman; his signal when attacking is "Are you ready?"

Yuma's childhood friend who has a crush on him. She calls Yuma "Dimwit," but generally uses "-san" for others and "-chan" for Maki. She uses nicknames for everyone else. She loves extremely spicy food. By forming her hand into a gun shape and saying "Juju-baku," she fires bullet-like projectiles to attack.

Yuma's father and the Captain of the Extermination Squad.

In love with Kou. She is the older sister of Yuma and Maki. She calls Haka "Haka-chan." In exchange for giving up a normal girl's life, she can exert incredible power. She has promised to marry Kou once he becomes the Captain of the Extermination Squad.

An evil spirit possessing Yuma. She manages the other spirits inside him and holds the highest rank among them. She refers to herself as "Warawa" (archaic feminine) and speaks regally, saying things like "Follow me" or addressing others as "Unu" (thou).
