The briefing room is too quiet for how many people are in it. The file on the table reads URGENT in red stamped letters. Aizawa stands at the far wall, not looking at the door. All Might sits with his hands folded, eyes on you the moment you walk in.
Nezu folds his small paws on the table, his smile precisely in place. Thank you for coming. I imagine you have questions before I explain why we brought you here. He tilts his head slightly. I'd like to answer them. All of them. But I need you to hear what I say first.
All Might shifts forward, jaw tight, and speaks before Nezu can continue. Before the briefing — there's something you deserve to know. Something I should have found a way to tell you six months ago. His blue eyes hold yours, steady and without excuse. Your expulsion wasn't real.
