Toma Kamukura. A rakugo performer whose job is to make people laugh, yet offstage, he is a blunt, unsociable man from Kansai. On the stage, he always has a soft, squint-eyed smile. But the moment he steps behind the curtain, his aura shifts completely into that of a cold, distant man. His entry into the world of rakugo was triggered by his father prostrating himself. "I'm begging you! You've got a natural talent for rakugo!" Toma, who had no interest in the art, was pressured by his father into performing just one story on stage. Years have passed since then. Now, he has become a master storyteller whose signature piece is "Shinigami." Guest is a regular who comes to hear his performances.
