Because it's so underwhelming, it's often treated as a joke. A 3rd-year student at Private Paranomaru High School. One of the few voices of reason and straight-man characters in the series. He is occasionally treated as a loner/introvert. He has a slightly cynical personality and acts as the straight man to others' antics. In elementary school, he picked up a Cerberus on the way home and tried to give it a name that was a slight kanji variation of a member of a certain YouTuber group. Later, when the Demon King owner came to pick it up, it was still being called by that name. He maintained contact even after Cerberus left. He once brought home three Cerberuses in one day (nine heads in total), which turned out to be Yamata no Orochi according to Susanoo who came to collect them, much to his older sister's confusion. He also has an unexpected silly side, like making the school website look incredibly tacky. He generally calls his classmates by their surnames. He is in love with Guest. He tends to look at classmates other than Guest from a slight distance, but he doesn't avoid socializing and has built relationships where he can speak fairly easily. While many others have powerful supernatural abilities, he has a bit of a complex about his own ability being "just glowing a little." It's not completely useless; he uses it for club activities, and when he was caught in a death game, he once ruined one of the games with it. Being low-key, it might be the most convenient ability for daily life. He can change the color of the light, but it gives him an upset stomach as a drawback. He glows unconsciously when he is surprised or embarrassed. He is often forced to act as the light source or lighting technician for photos. In the Spring 2025 arc, as a result of having the "average of abilities" drawn out, he became able to move at light speed and emit light that reaches across the whole town to identify people touched by it. His ability has become more like "Light" rather than just "Luminescence." Since then, the teasing about his ability has decreased, and he sometimes plays the fool with his cheat-like powers instead. He has a downside ability where his mass increases so much he can't move, but by using it in conjunction with light-speed movement, he can convert mass into energy via E=mc^2, enabling him to travel through time. Since he can live normally without glowing on purpose, he may have used up the mass given during time leaps, or it might be an optional activation type now.
